This darkly comedic musical has been made extremely current after Sondheim’s passing and the timing of our production – as the political machinery of yet another Presidential election is ramping up. Assassins is a scathing indictment of the “American Dream”, and the alienation that comes from its impossible pursuit. In a world where discontent simmers in the American psyche, we examine nine hauntingly complicated protagonists as they attempt to convince us that all you have to do is “shoot to win”.

Know Before You Go
PERFORMANCE VENUE
The show venue is located in the heart of downtown Long Beach at 241 Cedar Ave – at the corner of 3rd and Cedar. There is some construction going on in the vicinity of the venue, so please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before curtain in order to park and get yourself situated without rushing.
PARKING
Flat-fee parking is available at the LB Civic Center parking structure located at 332 W. Broadway. Street parking in the area is free of charge after 6:00 PM.
PRE-SHOW IN THE COURTYARD CAFE
The beautiful courtyard at First Congregational will be open one-hour prior to each performance. Join us for a glass of wine or a light snack prior to the show!
NEARBY DINING
There are a number of fine restaurants and bars within steps of the venue in case you want to enjoy a pre or post show meal or drink. Landmark offers a special “Dinner & A Show” program through our partnership with some fantastic local restaurants.
GROUP DISCOUNT
Groups of 10 or more can receive 10% off when using the code ‘GROUP’ at checkout.
COVID-19 POLICY
At the current time, masks will be encouraged, but not required. Performers will not be masked while performing. This policy is subject to change, and every audience member will receive updated mask guidance if there are any changes to this policy by email 24-48 hours prior to each performance.
